One - Union with God

Happy New Year! Praise be to God for He is soooo very good! Do you feel prepared for 2023? If not, listen to my sermon on how 2022 prepared and equipped you for 2023. Focusing on how God uses us for His plan will always inspire and strengthen us! His ways are just miraculous!

There are several times a year that I sit with the Lord and ask for His direction for the upcoming season - December is one of those times. While many make new year resolutions, I seek God's resolution. In my personal life and for Trumpets of Tirzah, I only want the will of the Father to be done, on earth as it is in heaven. And each December, I ask the Holy Spirit to give me the theme word for our word studies for the next year. This year He kept speaking to me about numbers. And as He spoke to me about numbers, He reminded me how He is in the smallest of every detail in every thing. His detail is truly mind boggling to me! I'm very detail oriented but my goodness, it is nothing compared to the Lord's detail!

Whenever we seek God we will find Him, that is scripture. It's found in several places but most are familiar with Matthew 7:7 - "Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you." This was Jesus speaking about our new covenant relationship with the Father, a very personal relationship. In the old covenant the relationship between us and God was distant and laws/regulations had to be kept in order to be in right standing with God. But Jesus came to bring us closer to the Father, back into personal relationship with Him, which is the way that He designed us. In the same way that He walked with Adam and Eve in the garden, He wants to walk with us today. He's inviting us to come close.

As we seek where God is, how He's moving, and what He's in, we will find Him. And for 2023 we are going to be focused on finding God in everything through His details. Together we will see His Deity in a new way and we'll do this by looking at numbers which is part of the order that God created. Every month we will look at one number, starting with number one and ending in December with twelve. We'll discuss how God speaks through numbers, why you see numbers repeat over and over again in your own life, and how to find what God is saying through them.

This month, we start with one. We begin the year focusing on our One Perfect God. The One Who loves us, forgives us, saves us and uses us. The One Who is dressed in splendor and majesty yet desires a personal relationship with us. Here is an example of how God is in every detail:

Genesis 11:1

Now the whole earth spoke one language and used the same words (vocabulary).

The scripture itself is 11:1, containing 3 "1's" in it and it speaks about how there was only one language. This is not coincidence or happenstance; God knew that man would put together a bible containing chapters and verses in order to be able to reference His Word. As it was recorded, there used to be only one single language spoken on the earth, God in His detail, inspired those who compiled scripture to together, that this scripture be placed exactly where we could find it, using 1's as it's "address." God created the number system, as part of His created order. We can't escape it if we tried. Numbers are a part of almost everything in our world and God has a message in it all - a message for US. A way that He tries to get our attention because He's inviting us to seek Him and come close.

Psalm 91:1

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].

As we come close to God we dwell in Him, not acting separately from Him but in union together. We choose Him and then He covers us. The more and more we look in scripture at where the word "one" is used and scriptures in verse 1, we see that the number one represents union. God's design between us and Himself is union. And He wants His children to be in unity with one another but only when He's at the core. Unity has to include our Creator because He is The One. The people of Babel had to be scattered because they tried to unify without including God in their union and that goes against God's will. He created us to be in union with Him. As in all things, when we leave God out, the consequences will be harsh.

If you constantly see number 1's everywhere, it's an invitation from the Father to draw close to Him. He's inviting you to come closer into union with Himself. How beautiful! God is so in love with us, He wants us CLOSE! That's not the only meaning, as you will see in our study this month, but that is the overall meaning, the overall theme from which deeper meaning will fall under.

This month we will be focusing on our union with God. Let's be aware of how God is speaking to us, especially in plain sight. We will post where we see the number one in our social media and we'd love for you to join in too! Look for the number 1 this month and then tag us. Together we can testify how God is speaking!
