A river is powerful, forever moving force and it has the strength to carve stone. A rushing river changes the landscape of the ground that surrounds it. Nothing can stop a rushing river. The peace of God comes into your life as a mighty rushing river. Just like a river in the natural, this river of peace changes everything in its path. There was this one situation in my life when I felt and saw God’s River of Peace flood the room and home. I remember the day started normal with a normal conversation. The situation then began to escalate very quickly. Everything became chaotic and twisted in the blink of eye. All of the sudden I heard the wind. Then I felt the peace of God enter the front door and rush over everyone in the room. Suddenly everyone was quiet and order came. The Peace of God extinguishes the plans of the enemy.
Allow the peace of God to be the Lifter of your head.
The peace of the Lord is POWERFUL and such it such an amazing gift from the He gives to us, His children. Living a peace-filled life takes discipline. As a believer, we have to train ourselves to be focused on peace because Jesus taught us that life would be filled with trials and tribulations (John 16:33). Understanding life will never be stress free BUT it doesn’t have to be stressful. Stressful moments will happen but we don’t have to be beaten down it. This reminds me of the story Jesus, who was in a deep and peaceful sleep in the boat in the midst of a raging storm. I believe that He would have slept through the storm and chaos and not have woken up until He reached His destination. However, the disciples had fixed their eyes on what they saw in the natural and thus allowing themselves to panic, which allowed chaos to determine their outlook. They focused on their emotions and circumstances which were; fear, panic, doubt and death. I know I have been there before. You can get so caught up in the natural that you focus on your circumstances, diagnosis, or situation that you forget that they are NOT the final judgment in a matter. God's way and His Word is final. We have to ask the Holy Spirit to teach us to break off old habits and mindsets that we have been taught so that our first response is to focus on Jesus so that we can remain in His peace. Jesus knew NOTHING could stop him from fulfilling His call and purpose. There was no situation, circumstance or season that could stand in the way and this should be the same for us. Focusing on Jesus, and not the problem, is the only way.
The key Jesus gave us is to embrace a lifestyle that holds onto the peace of God. The peace of God releases clarity in our minds. Philippians 4:6 says, “ Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your {specific} requests known to God”. THIS IS GOOD NEWS. The peace of God transcends ALL understanding. Transcendent means that God is outside of man’s perception or grasp. God is above everything that includes our perception, situation, circumstance and diagnosis, which is important for the believer to understand. The next time chaos or fear tries to surround you and tries to have you focus on it, call upon Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is our Peace. He will give you His perfect peace and clarity. He will give you a higher ground in which you will find your feet rooted in the foundation of peace. Make the choice to choose peace and not chaos. Peace is ours to have every day! We have been given the shoes of peace. Ephesians 6:15 states “strapped on your feet the Gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm footed stability and readiness produced by the good news].
My Prayer for you:
Lord, I thank you for Your perfect peace. Holy Spirit, I ask that as everyone reads this article that they would physically feel peace come into and upon them. I ask that the peace of God enter into everyone’s homes, circumstances and bodies. Lord bring it all to peace. I decree a sound mind, a mind FULL of peace. Thank you Jesus for You are the Prince of Peace. You restore all things. Thank you Father for everything that you are doing. Thank you for the turnaround and for making the crooked things straight. Holy Spirit bring balance into our lives in greater measure. Lord, teach us to enter into the place of rest in peace. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
