God of New Beginnings

Our God is a God of all things new! He is the God of new beginnings.

Isaiah 43:19 says, Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you NOT be aware of it? I will even put a ROAD in the wilderness, RIVERS in the wilderness, Rivers IN THE DESSERT”.

Let this promise sink into you and become an anchor especially when everything in your life looks and feels stuck and the opposite of movement. According to this verse, we are promised a FRESH, NEW, and a WAY OUT in every season. When the enemy spits his lies, remind yourself that your God provides rivers in the wilderness, He provides a road in the seemingly dark pit, and He releases a sound in the spirit that creates a ripple effect that releases any opposition. Hold onto His promises for they will come to pass (Joshua 21:45). Remember we are not to be led or moved by our feelings or the lack of change we see it in the natural. Instead place your full confidence in the Lord, He will NEVER fail you!

New beginnings can mean so many things, a new job, a move to a new area, a new season, or even a new way of living your life. New is defined as a new start and a new creation. Some other words that are associated with new are; brand new, up to date, newborn, original, way out, and current. All of these words reveal how a new beginning is a GOOD thing in our lives. It pushes past the old and ushers us into the future. It signifies a fresh start onto a new path that leads out of the old place you once were in! In Genesis, God reveals Himself to us as our Creator. Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. He is the ultimate creative Being. He revealed to us the power of creation, which is always in motion and evolving into something magnificent. Don’t shy away from a new beginning and allow God to reestablish you. Let your new beginning be better than your “old” or current season.

Hagai 2:9 The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former.”

There are two types of people in the world. A person who thrives on new adventures and always embraces a fresh start or those who need stability, familiarity and get stressed or frustrated when things suddenly change. Which one are you?

I think that it is important to identify our weaknesses and strengths so that we can have a better understanding of ourselves. No matter which spectrum you fall under know that God is always on the move, like a rushing river. Don't let fear, failure, or comfortability stop you from allowing God to move freely in your life. Allow God to transition you. When transition takes place it makes room for change. It allows the Holy Spirit to take control and have His way.

2 Corinthians 5:7

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Your mistakes of yesterday and your mistakes of tomorrow don’t matter. You are a new creation in Christ - that is what counts! The new covenant was given to us through the blood of Jesus. This is our hope. New is our inheritance. Jesus is the truest gift of newness in our lives. The newness of heart. The promise of eternity. Taking us from death to life. (Jeremiah 31:31).

If you want a new beginning with God, it’s available. Begin at the cross and then walk in obedience to the Lord alone. This truth gives us such HOPE. Change is good when partnering with the Lord. Jesus is our greatest example and He WAS ALWAYS doing a new thing! Live your life expecting a freshness to everything you touch, say, and do! Live life like Jesus FULL of the goodness of the Father.

Ezekiel 18:30-32 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord God. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Castaway from you all the transgressions, which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”

A new heart and a new spirit mean a new way of life and identity! This promise is FULL of HOPE because we can leave our past in the grave while we walk into the glorious future in Christ. Why not turn toward Christ and let Him make you into a new creation? Know that newness brings LIFE. A new beginning with God is available to us because of Jesus and the finished work on the Cross. The Cross is always the start of our new beginning. Don’t miss out on the new thing the Lord is doing. Allow this season of new beginnings to be your divine shift.

Take Ruth’s approach and say to the Lord in Ruth 1:16 “ …Where you go, I will go and where you lodge I will lodge…” I want to be ready to move with the Spirit of God and to be part of all He has for my generation. Every season of our lives has a purpose and prepares us to step into our destiny and callings. It is in the transitions that God uses it to shape and mold our character, pruning away the dead and all things that have kept us from His fullness. Let’s live in the present moment instep with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:

Thank you Jesus that we get a new beginning in you! Praise You Lord that you give us the strength, courage, and persistence needed to take the first step into the new thing you are calling us to. Holy Spirit prepares me now to step into all God has for me. Jesus, I want to be a person known for being in sync with You. Holy Spirit helps me to be flexible and allow the perfect will of God in my life. In your mighty name Jesus amen.
